Junior Software Engineer
The Junior Software Engineer will develop and maintain internal web applications for a Confidential Client, focusing on modernizing and automating business processes using Python, React.js, and AI technologies. This role involves close collaboration with engineers, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that support corporate finance and internal teams, while participating in Agile development and continuous learning in software engineering practices.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications that modernize and automate corporate business workflows.
- Build backend services and business logic primarily using Python.
- Develop modern, responsive front-end interfaces with React.js.
- Integrate systems with REST APIs, databases, data sources, and AI/LLM services.
- Collaborate with engineers, AI specialists, product stakeholders, and business users to gather requirements and deliver production-ready features.
- Participate in testing, debugging, and production support; help troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
- Contribute to process automation and AI-driven initiatives that reduce manual effort for finance and corporate teams.
- Assist with database development, SQL queries, reporting, and basic data analysis tasks.
- Follow software engineering best practices: code reviews, version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile ceremonies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, OR equivalent practical experience (bootcamp graduates welcome).
- Up to 1 year of professional IT or software development experience (internships and academic projects count).
- Practical experience or coursework with Python for backend development or automation.
- Experience building UIs with React.js or similar frontend frameworks.
- Understanding of object‑oriented programming, web application architecture, and software development fundamentals.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and common development tools.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Strong analytical thinking, clear written and verbal communication, and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness and ability to learn quickly in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Internship, co-op, or project experience building software applications.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Experience using AI tools or LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, etc.).
- Familiarity with AI integration frameworks such as LangChain.
- Interest or experience in data engineering, analytics, and workflow automation.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus.
- Familiarity with finance, accounting, or corporate business processes is helpful.
- Knowledge of Git, CI/CD concepts, unit testing, and Agile development practices.
