Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join an engineering team building real‑time, processing‑intensive analytics and simulation systems. This is a full‑time, on‑site role in the Huntsville, AL area. The role requires strong object‑oriented coding skills, familiarity with Linux/Windows development environments, and the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and enhance complex backend software for simulation and analytics systems.
- Contribute to design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of real‑time, performance‑sensitive code.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to support reliable, repeatable deployments.
- Write automation and supporting scripts using Bash and Python.
- Configure, maintain, and debug software on Linux and Windows platforms.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, test, and systems teams to resolve integration issues.
- Follow cyber‑secure software development practices and participate in security reviews.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in object‑oriented programming with C++.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
- Practical familiarity with Linux and Windows development and debugging tools.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and common DevOps tooling.
- Awareness of cyber‑secure development practices.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (required).
