What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is looking for an entry-level Junior Software Engineer to join a consulting team that builds scalable applications and integrations for clients across industries. This role focuses on hands-on development, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and learning modern engineering practices in a project-based environment.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable, scalable software applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineers, QA, business analysts, and other stakeholders across the software development lifecycle.
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and performance issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of code quality.
  • Work with relational databases and write SQL to support application features.
  • Use Git (or similar) for source control and follow branching/release processes.
  • Assist with deploying and maintaining applications across development, test, and production environments.
  • Work within Agile/Scrum teams—attend sprint ceremonies and help deliver on commitments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or similar technical discipline.
  • 1–4 years of professional software development experience or equivalent internships/projects.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, or Kotlin.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, client-server architecture, and SQL/relational databases.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively in team settings.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to different client environments.
  • Willing to relocate to Florida (FL) for paid training and to travel or relocate for client engagements as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or project experience building software applications.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like Spring Boot, .NET, React, Angular, Django, or Flask.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and basic DevOps concepts.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and automated testing.
  • Comfort working in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience with microservices, APIs, or distributed systems is a plus.

Location & Travel

  • Role is based in Florida (FL). Paid relocation to Florida for training is required.
  • Travel or relocation to client sites across the United States may be required depending on assignments.

Compensation

  • Hourly range: $35–$40 / hour (W2). Actual pay will depend on experience and location, consistent with applicable laws.
