Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring entry-level Junior Software Engineers / Data Scientists for full-time opportunities in Manhattan, NY. This is a hands-on position for candidates who want to build software and data products, learn modern engineering practices, and grow toward mid-level engineering or data science roles on an enterprise team.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to software development and data projects using Java, Python, or related languages
• Implement and test features, fixes, and data pipelines under senior engineering guidance
• Work with product and data teams to translate requirements into reliable code and analyses
• Write unit and integration tests, and participate in code reviews
• Troubleshoot production issues and monitor services as needed
• Learn and apply modern tooling: version control (Git), CI/CD, containerization, and cloud fundamentals

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or equivalent experience — recent grads and career-switchers encouraged
• Academic or project experience with one or more languages (Java or Python preferred)
• Familiarity with data concepts: SQL, ETL basics, or simple analytics workflows
• Understanding of basic CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and complexity
• Comfort using Git and working in a collaborative team environment
• Strong communicator, coachable, and motivated to learn on the job
• Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred (but not required)

• Experience with machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) or data frameworks (Pandas, Spark)
• Exposure to REST APIs, microservices, or frontend frameworks for full‑stack roles
• Familiarity with Docker, basic cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), or CI/CD pipelines
• Internship, capstone, or open-source project contributions that demonstrate applied skills

Compensation & employment type

• Employment type: Full-time
• Estimated pay (from source data): $159,186 per year (estimated). Final compensation will be set by Confidential Client and will depend on role, experience, and other lawful considerations.
• Additional benefits and perks are set by Confidential Client and will be shared during the hiring process.

Location & work authorization

• Location: Manhattan, NY (on-site or hybrid as defined by the client). Remote work policies, if applicable, will be determined by Confidential Client.
