Role Overview

Confidential client (via Careertakes) is hiring an entry-level Junior Software Engineer to join a growing IT product team based on Long Island. This is a full-time, on-site/commute-friendly role based in Brookhaven, NY. You'll work with Typescript, React, Ruby and MySQL to build, test, and maintain user-facing applications and backend services.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and deploy software solutions using Typescript, React, Ruby, and MySQL.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across the stack.
• Follow best practices for code quality, security, and data privacy.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to design and plan features.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and team planning sessions.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

• 1+ years of hands-on experience with Typescript, React, Ruby or other object-oriented programming (OOP) experience required.
• 2+ years of consecutive work experience preferred; new graduates with a BS in Computer Science will be considered.
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL) and basic web application architecture.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn modern full-stack development patterns.
• Must be located within reasonable commuting distance to Brookhaven, NY and able to work onsite as required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year.
