What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is looking for a Junior Software Engineer to be mentored and grown into a role supporting the development, integration, and evaluation of software for RF and PNT (positioning, navigation, timing) systems. You will work across software, algorithm, and integration boundaries to implement, test, and analyze capabilities in lab, constructive, and field environments.

  • Develop, maintain, test, and document software for systems, simulations, and performance-analysis environments
  • Implement algorithms and models under guidance (measurement modeling, error characterization, estimator behavior)
  • Integrate algorithms within existing software frameworks
  • Interface software with hardware- and software-in-the-loop (HITL / SITL) and digital-twin environments
  • Build and maintain interfaces between software components and external systems
  • Support test planning, execution, and analysis for PNT-focused experiments, demonstrations, and evaluations
  • Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers to align requirements, designs, and implementations
  • Produce documentation for software implementations, interfaces, and test results to support technical reviews and deliverables

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field
  • 0–2 years professional experience (includes internships, co-ops, or academic projects)
  • Programming experience in C# or C++ and/or Python
  • Experience developing on Linux and Windows platforms
  • Familiarity with PNT concepts (GNSS, inertial navigation, timing, sensor fusion)
  • Experience integrating software with complex systems, simulations, or hardware components
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience participating in technical team meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic or project experience with GNSS/GPS signal processing, navigation algorithms, or timing systems
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, or digital twin environments
  • Familiarity with real-time or embedded systems
  • Experience with HITL/SITL test architectures and laboratory integration
  • Experience supporting DoD programs, laboratory R&D, or operational prototyping
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Basic compensation (Beavercreek, OH): $80,000 - $100,000
    • The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and internal parity.
  • Additional compensation may include bonuses, sign-on, relocation, short- or long-term incentives, or discretionary payments where applicable.
  • Benefits may include — depending on role and eligibility — 401(k) with match, medical/dental/vision, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, and professional development support.

Location & Clearance

  • Work location: Beavercreek, OH — local on-site presence is expected for lab and field testing.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Confidential Client will consider reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities consistent with federal, state, and local law.

Why You’ll Like This Role

Join a team focused on mission-relevant RF and PNT challenges within the Defense and Space Manufacturing industry. You’ll receive mentorship from senior engineers, work across software and systems disciplines, and contribute to experiments and field demonstrations that directly impact national-security and space-focused programs.
