What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level, full-time telecommute role supporting a Confidential Client in the IT services and consulting space. As a junior software developer / data scientist you will:

• Contribute to software and data projects using languages and frameworks such as Java and Python.
• Implement and test code for backend and data-processing components.
• Assist with data collection, cleaning, exploratory analysis, and basic modeling.
• Write SQL queries and help integrate data sources for analytics or model training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, product) and use Git for version control.
• Follow agile development practices, participate in code reviews, and maintain documentation.
• Learn and apply cloud and DevOps basics when required (CI/CD, containerization).

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Familiarity with at least one programming language used in the role (Python and/or Java preferred).
• Basic understanding of data analysis, statistics, or introductory machine learning concepts.
• Experience with SQL and working with relational data.
• Comfortable using Git and collaborating in team repositories.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and iterate quickly.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

• Coursework or projects in data science, machine learning, data engineering, or full-stack development.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or container tools (Docker).
• Experience with basic data visualization tools or libraries.
• Exposure to DevOps practices or CI/CD pipelines.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $82,000 — $136,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client). This role complies with applicable state pay transparency rules.
• Standard employee benefits (medical, dental, vision) and other benefits are determined by the hiring organization and will be shared during the interview/offer stage.

• Job type: Full-time (telecommute).
• Location: Candidates should be based in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S. Confidential Client will discuss remote work expectations and any state-specific employment details during the hiring process.
