What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Security Operations Center (SOC) / Cybersecurity Analyst role supporting a Confidential Client. You will be the first line of defense monitoring security tools, triaging alerts, and documenting findings. The position is remote within Wisconsin — candidates must currently reside in Wisconsin; no relocation support is available.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor SOC dashboards, SIEMs, DLP tools and web application firewalls for alerts and operational health.
• Triage real-time security alerts and logs to identify false positives vs. legitimate incidents.
• Assist with routine vulnerability scan reviews and tracking remediation status.
• Create and update tickets with clear, timely documentation of investigations and remediation steps.
• Escalate complex or high-priority incidents to senior SOC or incident response staff with concise briefing notes.
• Work with IT, system administrators, and cross-functional teams during investigations and remediation.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum qualifications:

• 1+ years of IT or cybersecurity-related experience (entry-level SOC experience acceptable).
• Foundational knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S), Windows and Linux operating systems, and common security concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset for investigating logs and anomalies.
• Good written and verbal communication skills; able to document technical findings clearly and collaborate with teams.

• Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP (or equivalent) — helpful but not required.
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms, alert triage workflows, vulnerability scanning tools, or ticketing systems.
• Any hands-on experience with incident response procedures.
