Position summary

This posting is for a remote, entry-level engineering role focused on building and maintaining security automation and integration workflows. The confidential client’s security and operations teams rely on this position to deliver reliable automation, API integrations, and platform maintenance under senior engineering guidance.


What you’ll do

  • Develop, test, and maintain automation workflows based on documented use cases and requirements.
  • Build and consume REST API integrations to connect enterprise platforms and services.
  • Write and maintain Python scripts for data transformation, parsing, and task automation.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and remediate workflow failures; participate in incident-resolution steps.
  • Contribute to runbooks, integration patterns, and standard operating procedures documentation.
  • Support RHEL and AKS platform stability, perform routine platform maintenance tasks.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or related field — OR equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience (associate degree + projects, bootcamp + portfolio).
  • 1–2 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, automation, or security operations — internships, co-ops, or substantial project work may substitute.
  • Experience working in Linux environments (any distribution).
  • Familiarity with Git (branching, PRs, code reviews).
  • Basic SQL skills (querying, filtering, joins).

Required technical skills

  • Strong Python scripting experience (data manipulation, automation, REST API consumption).
  • REST API integration: authentication, error handling, and reliable retries.
  • Data analysis and transformation (pandas, JSON/CSV parsing).
  • Understanding of automation pipeline concepts (scheduling, orchestration, idempotency).
  • Experience integrating or experimenting with AI/LLM tooling (prompt patterns, tool-calling, API consumption).

Preferred / nice-to-have

  • RHEL/Linux server administration (systemd, package management, troubleshooting).
  • Container fundamentals (Docker/Podman, Dockerfiles, compose).
  • AKS / Kubernetes exposure (kubectl, pod debugging, Helm basics).
  • Background in cybersecurity: vulnerability management, threat intelligence, SIEM/SOAR concepts.
  • Experience with orchestration platforms (Apache Airflow or similar).
  • Familiarity with Azure services (Key Vault, Blob Storage, Managed Identity).
  • Relevant certs are a plus (CompTIA Security+, AZ-900/AZ-104, CKA, PCEP/PCAP).

Compensation & benefits

  • Estimated base salary: $116,631 per year (estimated).
  • Total rewards package may include bonus eligibility, medical/dental/vision benefits, life/disability insurance, retirement plan matching, and employee stock purchase opportunities. Final compensation is determined by experience, skills, location, and other factors.
