What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Junior Product Engineer to support engineered electrical and electromechanical products. This entry-level role combines customer-facing technical support, product documentation, and hands-on collaboration with Manufacturing and Quality teams to deliver safe, compliant solutions for high-power electrical applications.

  • Support product application and selection for customers and Sales.
  • Learn product specifications and technical applications for electromechanical devices.
  • Review customer drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications to verify product suitability.
  • Assist with configuration, troubleshooting, and testing of electrical components and assemblies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation: SOPs, work instructions, technical reports, product drawings, and bills of material.
  • Support engineering changes, custom product configurations, and product improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, and the Machine Shop to resolve production, procurement, and testing issues.
  • Provide training and product information to internal teams and customers as needed.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Compensation & Employment Type

  • Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client)
  • Employment type: Full-time; Contract role classification also listed by the client.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline — recent graduates encouraged.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Strong technical writing skills for preparing SOPs, work instructions, and reports.
  • Good verbal communication, listening, and customer-service skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn product and application details.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across teams.

Important legal requirement:

  • Due to ITAR compliance, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, academic project, or hands-on experience in manufacturing, electrical products, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical power systems (three-phase power), industrial controls, switchgear, or high-power wiring applications.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, other 3D CAD, AutoCAD or 2D CAD tools; ERP systems (e.g., SyteLine).
  • Familiarity with UL, CSA, ISO, or other relevant industry standards.
  • Experience preparing controlled technical documentation and SOPs.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Work occurs in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and enter production areas.
  • Occasional travel to customer or company locations may be required.
