Junior Power Platform Developer
The Junior Power Platform Developer supports mission-critical software engineering by designing, developing, testing, and maintaining low-code/no-code solutions and analytics dashboards within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. This role offers early-career technologists the opportunity to work alongside senior developers in a DoD environment, emphasizing mentorship, technical excellence, and compliance with security standards.

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a motivated, early-career technologist to join a team building secure, low-code/no-code solutions on the Microsoft Power Platform. You will partner with senior developers and project leads to design, build, test, and maintain business applications and analytics that meet DoD standards.
- Assist in designing, building, testing, and deploying Model-driven and/or Canvas Power Apps to support operational workflows.
- Develop and refine Power BI reports and dashboards; prepare clean data visualizations and basic DAX calculations.
- Create, test, and maintain Power Automate flows (notifications, approvals, data syncs).
- Import, transform, and clean data using Power Query in Power BI, Dataverse dataflows, or Excel.
- Participate in unit testing, peer reviews, and documentation; help reproduce and resolve defects.
- Follow secure development practices and comply with Department of Defense (DoD) requirements and documentation standards.
- Attend team stand-ups, capture user requirements, and contribute to sprint activities.
Qualifications (Required)
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience/technical training.
- Minimum 1+ year hands-on experience (professional, internship, or project-based) with the Microsoft Power Platform and experience in at least two of the following: Power Apps, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to participate in team meetings and articulate technical tasks.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M / 8140 IAT Level II) or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dataverse (tables, relationships, configuration).
- Basic awareness of ALM and version control (Git, Azure DevOps) and interest in DevOps practices for Power Platform.
- Microsoft Power Platform certifications such as PL-900 or PL-200.
- Experience or interest in consulting/client-facing activities (user interviews, user stories, sprint reviews).
Location & Clearance
- Primary work location: Mosby, VA — candidates should be able to commute or work on-site as required by project needs.
- Must possess an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) at time of hire.
