Position overview
Confidential Client is seeking a Junior Metrics Data Analyst with an active security clearance to support metrics reporting and operational insight efforts. This is an entry-level, full-time position based in Norfolk, VA. You will work with stakeholders to collect, clean, and report metrics that drive decisions and demonstrate program performance.
What You’ll Do
- Support the collection, validation, and consolidation of operational and performance metrics.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards for program leadership and technical teams.
- Analyze trends in metrics data and surface actionable insights.
- Assist in automating routine data processes and report generation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure metric definitions and data sources are consistent.
- Maintain documentation of data sources, ETL steps, and reporting logic.
- Adhere to security and handling procedures required for working with cleared information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active security clearance (specify level required by the client; candidate must already hold clearance).
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics) OR equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work with data (experience via coursework, internships, or prior roles).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to pass background checks and follow all security protocols.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-haves)
- Experience with metrics reporting, dashboards, or business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with SQL or other query languages.
- Experience with Excel (pivot tables, formulas) or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Exposure to scripting or data tools (Python, R, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Previous experience in defense, government contracting, or other security-conscious environments.
Location & Work Arrangement
- This position is based in Norfolk, VA. Candidates should be able to work onsite as required by program and security rules.
- Some roles may require occasional travel; specific travel expectations will be shared by the hiring manager.
