What You’ll Do
- Build, train and evaluate machine learning models using Python and common ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch)
- Implement data ingestion and preprocessing pipelines (pandas, NumPy, SQL)
- Apply basic NLP techniques for text processing and feature engineering
- Design and run model evaluation (cross-validation, AUC, precision/recall, confusion matrices) and document findings
- Integrate models into simple APIs or application prototypes for evaluation and automation
- Write clean, testable Python code and collaborate with engineers to productionize components
- Debug data issues, improve reproducibility (version control, environments) and maintain clear technical notes
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and learning initiatives to strengthen practical ML skills
Who You Are (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent experience — recent grads welcome
- 1 year or less professional ML/DS experience (internships, bootcamps or project work accepted)
- Solid Python programming skills and familiarity with libraries such as pandas and NumPy
- Practical understanding of supervised learning, model evaluation metrics and basic NLP workflows
- Experience with Git and basic software engineering practices (unit testing, modular code)
- Strong written and verbal communication — able to explain model choices and results clearly
- Self-starter attitude with a clear desire to learn and apply ML concepts to real problems
Nice to Have
- Hands-on projects or coursework with TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn
- Experience building simple REST APIs or integrating models into apps
- Familiarity with cloud basics or data pipeline tools (AWS, GCP, Airflow, dbt)
- Kaggle, open-source contributions, or published project portfolio demonstrating applied ML work
Compensation & Location
- Estimated salary: $132,665 per year (estimated)
