Position Summary

Confidential Client is seeking a motivated Junior Machine Learning Engineer to join an early-career friendly, remote-capable engineering team. This role is ideal for recent CS/Engineering graduates, career-switchers, or developers who want to move from AI theory into building production-focused ML systems. You will write clean Python code, help evaluate models, work with NLP pipelines, and connect ML work to APIs and applications.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and maintain Python code for ML and data pipelines.
• Implement and evaluate models for classification, regression, and NLP tasks.
• Build and document reproducible model evaluation workflows and metrics.
• Integrate models into APIs or application-level components for product teams.
• Support data collection, feature engineering, and lightweight ETL/automation tasks.
• Collaborate with engineers and product stakeholders to translate ML experiments into usable features.
• Communicate results clearly in writing and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
• Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with common ML libraries (scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, pandas).
• Basic understanding of machine learning fundamentals: model training, validation, overfitting, and evaluation metrics.
• Experience working with data (cleaning, transformation, simple ETL).
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, iterate, and take feedback in fast-moving projects.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Coursework or projects in NLP, deep learning, or applied machine learning.
• Experience with model deployment fundamentals (APIs, containers, or simple cloud services).
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Exposure to automated data pipelines and basic MLOps concepts.
• Internship or project experience demonstrating practical ML work and reproducible code.
