Position overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Junior Linguist (native-level Korean or Farsi) to support Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) analysis at Fort Belvoir, VA. This is an on-site, full-time role that requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. The analyst will translate, transcribe, and provide cultural and linguistic context for foreign-language source materials to support research and analytic products.
What you’ll do
- Translate and transcribe Korean- or Farsi-language materials into English with accuracy and cultural context
- Review foreign-language content to identify items relevant to WMD capabilities and vulnerabilities
- Produce written summaries, preliminary analytical findings, and annotated translations
- Organize and document translated materials for analytical review and reporting
- Support senior linguists and subject-matter analysts with research and source evaluation
- Incorporate feedback from senior analysts to improve translation and analytic quality
- Preserve accurate records of work and maintain standards for classified/controlled materials handling
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 0–3 years of relevant professional experience
- Native-level proficiency in Korean or Farsi (reading, writing, speaking)
- Demonstrated ability to translate, transcribe, and interpret foreign-language information accurately
- Strong understanding of cultural and linguistic nuance for the target language
- Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively under senior analytical guidance
- Must be able to work onsite at Fort Belvoir, VA
- Active TS/SCI security clearance required
Preferred qualifications
- Degree in Linguistics, International Relations, Regional Studies, Political Science, Intelligence Studies, or related field
- Experience translating or analyzing technical, research, or defense-related foreign-language materials
- Familiarity with national security, defense, or CWMD topics
- Experience with open-source research and information analysis
- Prior academic, internship, or professional experience preparing translations or analytical reports
- Familiarity with foreign-language research tools or translation software
