Position Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Junior Landscape Designer + Project Manager to support design and delivery of urban landscape projects across New York City. This hybrid, full-time hourly role sits at the intersection of design and field execution: you’ll help develop planting plans and drawings, support project scheduling and budgets, join site visits, and collaborate with crews and consultants to ensure strong design intent through construction.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in developing landscape designs, planting plans, and material palettes for rooftops, terraces, streetscapes, and amenity spaces
  • Produce drawings, renderings, submittals, and client presentation materials using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Support site analysis, measurements, and construction oversight
  • Help manage timelines, budgets, procurement, and project estimates
  • Coordinate with internal crews, subcontractors, and external consultants (architects, engineers, developers)
  • Track project progress, document changes, and maintain organized records
  • Troubleshoot installation and build challenges on-site to preserve design intent
  • Prepare client-facing deliverables and participate in meetings with clear follow-ups

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field
  • 0–3 years relevant experience (including internships)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; familiarity with SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Strong design sensibility, attention to detail, and interest in urban ecology and green infrastructure
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable both in-office and in the field
  • A self-starter excited about hands-on work and collaborative project delivery

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone equally enthusiastic about conceptual design and getting their hands dirty on-site
  • A proactive team member who follows through and asks the right questions
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with frequent site access across NYC

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25 - $28 per hour, commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Paid Time Off, paid holidays, and applicable leave (family, medical, bereavement)
  • Retirement benefit participation
  • Discounted employee CSA offering and event/workshop discounts
  • Access to seasonal produce when on-site

Growth Opportunity & Location

  • Clear advancement path toward Project Manager and Landscape Architect roles with increasing design ownership and client-facing responsibility
  • Role is based in New York City with travel to project sites across the five boroughs; hybrid in-office + frequent field work
