What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Junior Java / Spring Boot role that also supports data analytics and early data‑science exposure. You'll join an engineering team to build real-world projects that demonstrate your technical and collaboration abilities.

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and document RESTful APIs and integrate with SQL databases
• Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews
• Use Git for source control and follow team branching workflows
• Work with basic DevOps/tooling (CI/CD, containers) to package and deploy services
• Collaborate with data analysts/engineers and ML contributors to support analytics pipelines
• Convert algorithm and LeetCode practice into working projects and interview-ready artifacts
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve application performance and reliability

Qualifications (Required)

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent coursework) in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or related field — recent grads encouraged
• Strong Java fundamentals and familiarity with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
• Basic experience with relational databases and SQL
• Comfort using Git and collaborating in a team codebase
• Good problem-solving skills and algorithm practice (LeetCode-style experience is a plus)
• Desire to learn full‑stack development, data tooling, and software engineering best practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to present project work

Nice to Have

• Experience with Python for data analysis or scripting
• Exposure to REST API design, JSON, and web fundamentals
• Familiarity with container tooling (Docker) and CI/CD concepts
• Any project or internship demonstrating full-stack or data-work (class projects count)
• Interest in data science / ML fundamentals or analytics pipelines

Employment Type & Compensation

• Employment type: Full time
• Salary: $82,000 - $127,000 per year (posted for Portland, OR)
• This role is based in Portland, OR. Compensation shown reflects the range for this location.
