Junior Java Software Engineer
The Junior Java Software Engineer will design and develop robust Java-based software solutions, including enterprise APIs and microservices, while leveraging advanced AI coding tools to accelerate development and testing. Working within an agile, cloud-enabled environment, the role involves collaboration, code reviews, and integration of next-generation AI workflows to support mission-critical projects. What You’ll Do
- Design and implement robust Java-based software, enterprise APIs, and scalable microservices.
- Build and integrate RESTful web services and enterprise microservices architectures.
- Use modern frameworks (e.g., Spring) and best practices for design, testing, and deployment.
- Leverage agentic AI workflows and autonomous coding tools to accelerate implementation, complex refactors, and automated test generation.
- Work in an agile team: participate in ceremonies, perform code reviews, and provide technical guidance.
- Operate in cloud and Linux environments and interact with distributed databases.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional Java software development experience.
- Proficiency with Spring framework(s).
- Experience with version control and build/configuration tools: Git, Maven, Nexus.
- Comfortable in Linux environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with NoSQL and distributed search databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch).
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Direct experience with microservices patterns and API design at scale.
- Prior use of AI-assisted development tools or agentic workflows in production development.
- Experience integrating automated test generation into CI/CD pipelines.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive total compensation: $224,000 annually (as listed).

Location & Work Model
- Role supports a hybrid schedule. On-site presence is expected in Glen Burnie, MD approximately 1–2 days per week.
- Candidates should be able to travel to the Glen Burnie, MD worksite as needed.
