Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking entry-to-associate level Java software developers with interest or experience in microservices and data science workflows. This role is ideal for recent CS/Engineering graduates, career switchers, or candidates with limited professional experience who want hands-on work with Java, Spring, cloud tooling, and data-focused engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to backend systems built in Java and Spring (microservices architecture).
• Implement, test, and deploy APIs and services that integrate with cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps, data) to deliver features.
• Support data pipelines and analytics tasks when working with data engineering or data science teams.
• Participate in code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and follow CI/CD practices.
• Learn and apply data structures & algorithms (DSA) and best practices to real problems.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience, OR demonstrable project work.
• Solid fundamentals in Java (core language features, OOP).
• Familiarity with Spring or similar Java frameworks.
• Basic understanding of RESTful API design and microservices concepts.
• Comfortable with version control (Git) and basic command-line tooling.
• Willingness to learn cloud concepts (AWS/GCP/Azure) and DevOps basics.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work on a team.

Preferred skills

• Experience or coursework in data science, data engineering, or machine learning (Python a plus).
• Knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or microservice orchestration.
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.

• Demonstrated projects (classwork, open source, personal projects) that show practical application of skills.
