Overview

Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is hiring entry-level engineers for Java, Data Engineering, and AI/ML paths. This is a full-time opportunity aimed at recent graduates, career-switchers, and candidates with limited professional experience who are ready to grow with hands-on projects, mentorship, and client-facing placements.

What You’ll Do

• Work on entry-level development and data projects using Java and/or Python.
• Contribute to backend services, microservices, and Spring-based applications.
• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines, ETL jobs, and SQL-based datasets.
• Support ML/AI initiatives including data preparation and reproducible experiment workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in technical interviews and assessments.
• Complete hands-on projects used to demonstrate skills to hiring clients.
• Participate in training, mock interviews, and a structured placement program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or equivalent practical experience (recent graduates welcome).
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (Java or Python preferred).
• Basic SQL knowledge and experience with data manipulation or ETL concepts.
• Comfort using Git or other version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new stacks quickly.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for client and team interactions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to commit to attendance for assessments, project completion, and interviews as part of the placement process.

Preferred (Nice-to-have)

• Experience or coursework with Spring Framework, microservices, or REST APIs.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps tooling.
• Familiarity with BI tools, data visualization, or basic ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Projects or internships demonstrating practical, production-oriented work.

Compensation & Employment Type

• Employment type: Full time
• Base pay: $82,000 - $136,000 per year (range provided by Confidential Client)
