What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level / early-career position blending Java development and data engineering fundamentals with an AI focus. You will join teams that build and maintain software and data pipelines, learn modern engineering practices, and contribute to projects that use data and ML tooling.

• Support development of backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Help build and maintain ETL/data pipelines using SQL and Python
• Assist with data ingestion, transformation, and basic modeling for analytics and ML needs
• Write, test and debug code; participate in code reviews and pair programming
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, data science, product) to deliver features
• Contribute to DevOps/CI-CD tasks and automation (basic Docker, CI pipelines)
• Learn and apply fundamentals of machine learning and AI programming in project work
• Document your work and follow team processes for tickets, testing, and deployments

Qualifications (Must-Have)

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed or recent graduate) in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Information Systems, or related field
• Hands-on experience (class projects, internships, bootcamps, or personal projects) with Java
• Familiarity with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
• Basic SQL skills and comfort working with relational databases
• Exposure to Python for scripting, data work, or ML is strongly preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn on the job
• Clear communication skills and ability to work on small teams

Nice-to-Have / Preferred

• Coursework or projects in data engineering, data analytics, or machine learning
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or containerization (Docker)
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts
• Any experience with full-stack development, DevOps, or BI tools
• Internships or practical experience demonstrating project depth

• Location: Hoboken, New Jersey (onsite / hybrid depending on the client team)
• Employment type: Full-time (entry-level / early-career)
• Estimated compensation (from source): $108,743 per year — estimated
• Note: Final compensation, benefits, and work arrangement are set by the hiring client.
