What You’ll Do
This entry-level Health Data Analyst role supports population health, value-based care, and quality measurement initiatives by collecting, preparing, analyzing, and reporting on clinical and claims data. You will work cross-functionally with clinical, financial, and operational teams to turn large data sets into actionable insights.
- Work with claims, registry, and EHR-derived data to calculate and monitor quality, utilization, risk-adjusted cost, and care-coordination metrics
- Develop, test, and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards to support accountable care and managed care programs
- Perform data validation, transformation, and aggregation to prepare analytics-ready datasets
- Identify trends and patterns in complex clinical and financial data; summarize findings with clear visualizations and narrative recommendations
- Support measurement for HEDIS/GPRO, risk adjustment, and utilization/performance monitoring
- Assist stakeholders with report testing and end-user support
- Maintain documentation and version control for analytic processes and deliverables
- Stay current on healthcare payment, quality, and regulatory trends that affect analytics and reporting
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Business, Health Administration, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of relevant experience (health administration, data analytics, or similar)
- Strong data literacy and conceptual analytical skills
- Experience working with large clinical or claims datasets and clinical quality measures
- Demonstrated ability to run quantitative analyses and translate results into recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and to learn new tools quickly
Skills & Tools
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling)
- SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Familiarity with MS Access, data management workflows, or similar tools
- Experience with data visualization (Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent) preferred
- Knowledge of claims structure, HEDIS/GPRO measures, and risk-adjustment concepts
- Basic finance and health plan analytics knowledge
Compensation & Work Type
- Salary range: $58,488.99 - $93,582.39 (final offer based on qualifications, education, and experience)
- Employment type: Full-time
- Work model: Hybrid — Baltimore, MD (on-site presence required per client policy)
