What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level / early-career full‑stack software programmer role working with client teams to build, test, and deliver production software. You will get hands‑on experience applying modern technologies and learn to contribute on projects from Day 1.

  • Write, test, and maintain backend and frontend code in Java, Python, or similar languages
  • Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with databases and services
  • Collaborate with engineers, QA, and product stakeholders to deliver features
  • Participate in code reviews and follow version‑control best practices (Git)
  • Troubleshoot issues, debug production reports, and help improve reliability
  • Complete hands‑on training and pair‑programming sessions as part of career development

Who You Are

You’re an early-career developer, recent graduate, or career-switcher eager to gain real-world project experience and ramp into an in‑demand tech stack quickly.

  • Comfortable with fundamentals of software development and data structures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or equivalent coursework/bootcamp experience, OR demonstrable hands‑on project experience
  • Experience building small projects or coursework in one or more of: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Familiarity with web fundamentals (HTTP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript), basic SQL, and Git
  • Willingness to complete additional training and interview coaching provided by the hiring client
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. or willing to discuss visa status (all visa types and U.S. citizens encouraged to apply)

Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have)

  • Exposure to full‑stack frameworks (Spring, Node.js/Express, React, Angular, or Vue)
  • Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers (Docker) or CI/CD
  • Interest in DevOps, data engineering, analytics, or machine learning pathways
  • Internship, open‑source contributions, or capstone/project work demonstrating real‑world application

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated salary (per source data): $135,033 per year — actual compensation will depend on role, experience, and client
  • Professional development, training, and interview coaching to help you move into client placements
  • Possibility of multiple full‑time client placement opportunities through the Careertakes platform

Location & Work Model

  • Role is listed for Madison, WI. Specific client placements may be onsite, hybrid, or remote depending on the client. Final work location and schedule are set by the hiring client.
