Role Overview

This is an entry-level / junior software role focused on full‑stack development and data work (Data Analyst / Data Scientist) with a confidential client in La Jolla, CA. The program is designed for recent grads, career-switchers, and candidates with limited professional experience who want hands-on projects, skill-building, and active marketing to hiring teams.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain web applications and backend services using common stacks (Java, Python, Spring Boot, microservices, SQL).
• Work on data-focused tasks: data cleaning, exploratory analysis, basic models, and reporting (Pandas, SQL, basic ML libraries).
• Implement unit tests and collaborate on DevOps basics (CI/CD, containerization) where applicable.
• Complete assigned, enterprise-style project work to demonstrate practical skills.
• Participate in mock interviews and receive coaching to prepare for client screens.
• Collaborate with mentors and a technical team to iterate on project deliverables and demos.

What We’re Looking For

• Recent graduates (CS, Engineering, Math, Statistics) or individuals transitioning into tech.
• Familiarity with one or more of: Java, Python, SQL, web frameworks, or data analysis tools.
• Basic understanding of data structures & algorithms and software development fundamentals.
• Strong desire to learn, complete projects, and apply feedback quickly.
• Good communication skills and willingness to participate in mock interviews and career coaching.

Nice-to-Have (optional but helpful)

• Experience or coursework in Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs.
• Exposure to cloud basics (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or container tooling (Docker).
• Introductory experience with machine learning libraries (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Internships, class projects, or open-source contributions that demonstrate applied skills.

Compensation & Location

• Location: La Jolla, CA (on-site / local roles with the confidential client)
• Employment type: Full time
• Salary range (posted): $82,000 – $136,000 per year
  • This posting includes the pay range required by California pay‑transparency rules.
• Note: Benefits, exact compensation, and final title will be determined by the confidential client during the hiring process.
