What You’ll Do
This is a junior software engineering seat on the IT team for a confidential client in the aviation & aerospace manufacturing space. The role combines hands-on IT operations with growing engineering work: you’ll spend much of your time supporting employees and systems, and increasingly build automations, scripts, dashboards, and internal tools that let a small IT team scale.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT support for employees across a mixed Windows and macOS environment.
- Own the daily ticket queue and resolve issues end-to-end.
- Run employee onboarding and offboarding: device setup, account provisioning, access management, device recovery.
- Administer Microsoft 365 (identity, licensing, mailboxes, SharePoint, Teams) and script routine M365 tasks.
- Track and reconcile IT assets and spares.
- Support implementation and evidence collection for compliance frameworks (CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171).
- Build automations for onboarding workflows, access provisioning, asset tracking, and compliance evidence collection.
- Document procedures, fixes, and runbooks so knowledge is transferable.
How This Role Grows
Over 1–3 years you’ll move from operational work into more engineering: owning internal web apps, dashboards, and automation that scale the business. Possible future paths include platform engineering, mission/software engineering teams, or specialized security roles.
- Take ownership of internal web apps and onboarding/access automations.
- Build dashboards and reports to give the business visibility into IT and compliance posture.
- Automate compliance evidence collection and reporting.
- Help secure production AI agent deployments and integrate with cross-team tooling/APIs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or equivalent demonstrated engineering ability — or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years professional experience (explicitly a junior role).
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar) and comfort writing against APIs.
- Fundamentals in operating systems, networking, and identity management.
- Comfortable supporting both Windows and macOS.
- Able to troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues and explain your diagnostics.
- Strong written communication for docs, runbooks, and compliance artifacts.
- Hands-on, self-directed, and able to take a problem from report to shipped fix.
Nice-to-Haves / Preferred Skills
- Internship, co-op, or project experience in software engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, IT, or security.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration or scripting against the Microsoft Graph API.
- Experience with a modern language/framework (TypeScript/Node/React, Python, Go).
- Familiarity with CMMC 2.0, NIST 800-171, SOC 2, or ISO 27001.
- Interest in AI tools, agentic workflows, and safe deployment practices.
- Security-related certifications (Security+, Network+, or equivalent).
- Prior experience in startup, aerospace, defense, or fast-learning shipping environments.
Requirements & Location
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have work authorization and eligibility to access controlled U.S. government information (for example, Permanent Resident or other eligible status).
- This position is on-site in Denver, CO. Candidates must be located near Denver or willing to relocate; the office is at 4800 Race St., Denver, CO.
