Role summary

We are partnering with a confidential client — a next-generation national security and enterprise IT provider — to hire an entry-level Full-Stack Software Engineer. In this role you'll join a cross-functional Agile/DevSecOps scrum team to build, test, and ship mission-focused software used in critical national security missions.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to full-stack feature development alongside senior engineers on a Scrum team.
• Write, test, and maintain backend services (Java Spring Boot or Python FastAPI/Flask) and frontend components (React or Angular).
• Collaborate on acceptance criteria, automate tests, and participate in CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Support integration, troubleshoot bugs, and implement enhancements across microservices and cloud-hosted systems.
• Help migrate legacy components toward modern stacks and document technical designs and implementation details.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups, demos, and retrospectives.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years relevant experience, or Master’s degree; 4 additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (required).
• Coursework or hands-on experience in one or more:
  • Java (Spring / Spring Boot)
  • Python (FastAPI or Flask)
  • JavaScript/TypeScript (React or Angular)
• Fundamental knowledge of REST/JSON, Git, Agile/Scrum processes, and exposure to Docker.
• Experience or coursework with AWS (for example EC2, S3) and databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or DocumentDB.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, pytest).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay range: $80,000/yr - $128,000/yr (range provided by the confidential client; final pay based on skills and experience).
• Heavily subsidized medical coverage for employees and dependents.
• 25 days of PTO accrued annually (with a generous cap).
