What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level/full-time opportunity for someone building a career as a full-stack engineer with exposure to data engineering. You will:

• Contribute to feature development in Java backends and React front-ends.
• Build, test, and support data pipelines using SQL and Python.
• Work with Spark and Databricks (or similar Apache Spark environments) for batch and streaming workloads.
• Help design/cloud-enable ETL processes and follow cloud ETL patterns (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Debug SQL performance issues and optimize queries.
• Write and maintain automated tests; participate in code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and data teams to deliver reliable services.
• Document architecture and implementation decisions so your work is scannable in interviews and resumes.

Who You Are

You may be a recent CS/Engineering grad, a career switcher, or an early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience in both application development and data pipelines. Ideal traits:

• Eager to learn modern full‑stack patterns (Java + React) and cloud data tools.
• Comfortable writing SQL and using Python for ETL/analysis.
• Curious about distributed data processing (Spark) and data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
• Good communicator who asks questions and documents work.
• Motivated to turn projects into clear, interview-ready examples.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math/Statistics, or equivalent practical experience — recent grads are welcome.
• 0–2 years of software or data engineering experience (internships and projects count).
• Familiarity with:
  • Java (core language, basic libraries)
  • React (basic component/model/state patterns)
  • SQL (querying and basic performance tuning)
  • Python scripting for data tasks
  • Version control (Git)
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-Have

• Exposure to Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Experience building simple ETL pipelines or streaming concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container basics.
• Prior internship or project experience delivering end-to-end features.

Compensation & Location

• Salary: $82,000 – $127,000 per year (range provided by the hiring client).
• Employment type: Full-time.
• Location: Salt Lake City, UT — local candidates preferred; remote/hybrid arrangements depend on the confidential client’s needs.
