What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level / junior full-stack developer role focused on Java and React. You will join a technical team at a Confidential Client in the IT industry to help design, build, and maintain web applications while learning best practices in software engineering.

• Contribute to front-end features using React and related libraries (components, state management, routing)
• Build and maintain back-end services using Java (Spring Boot or similar)
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Debug application issues and participate in code reviews
• Work with product and design teams to translate requirements into working features
• Learn and apply CI/CD, version control (Git), and basic DevOps practices
• Participate in planning sessions, sprint ceremonies, and knowledge-sharing activities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience — recent graduates encouraged
• Hands-on experience (class projects, internships, personal projects) with Java and React/React.js
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and working with JSON
• Basic SQL skills and comfort querying relational databases
• Version control experience (Git)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Authorized to work in the U.S. for this position (Confidential Client will consider sponsorship on a case-by-case basis — confirm with recruiter)

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

• Experience with Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker)
• Exposure to testing frameworks (JUnit, React Testing Library)
• Interest in data fundamentals (SQL, basic analytics) — useful for cross-track opportunities

Compensation & Role Details

• Salary: $86,000 - $136,000 per year
• Employment type: Full time
• Location: Alexandria, VA (on-site or hybrid as defined by Confidential Client)
