What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Junior Financial Analyst (FP&A) to help turn financial and operational data into clear business insight. This is an early-career role with exposure to budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial modeling, and business partnering. You’ll use Excel, Power Query, Power BI, SQL and AI-assisted tools to improve analysis, reporting, and decision support while following strong validation and data-security practices.
- Support forecasting and budgeting: gather, validate, and analyze financial and operational data
- Perform variance and trend analysis across actuals, forecasts, and budgets
- Translate analysis into concise conclusions, business implications, and recommended actions
- Maintain and enhance financial models, KPI reporting, and management reports
- Investigate unusual variances or data anomalies and collaborate with Accounting and Operations to resolve them
- Assist with capital expenditure tracking, bid pricing, labor rate, and burden analyses as needed
- Identify repetitive tasks for automation and help implement improvements using Excel, Power Query, Power BI, automation tools, and AI where appropriate
- Document assumptions, data sources, calculations, and any AI-assisted work to ensure transparency and reproducibility
- Deliver ad hoc analyses and support finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
Who You Are (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience (financial analysis, accounting, internships, or related)
- Internship experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Business Analytics, or a related discipline preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic financial modeling)
- Familiarity with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, ERP systems, automation tools, or data visualization
- Demonstrated interest and practical ability to use AI (including large language models) to improve research and productivity — and an ability to validate AI-assisted outputs and protect confidential information
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Clear communicator able to present findings to financial and non-financial audiences
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Learning agility, ability to manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10%–15% annually
- Relevant coursework or projects in analytics, automation, visualization, AI, data management, or financial modeling

Employment Details

- Location: White, WA (work will be based in Washington)
- Travel: Approximately 10%–15% per year
- Compensation (as posted): Annual salary range $91,851 to $100,201. Actual pay offered will depend on factors including experience and qualifications.
