Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Junior Field Service Engineer to support field activities including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting at customer sites. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career technicians who want structured training, hands-on field experience, and mentoring from senior engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Assist Senior Field Service Engineers with installation, commissioning, and startup activities at customer sites.
- Support field modifications, system checks, and verification of equipment performance.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and inspection tasks under supervision.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and in identifying root causes; escalate complex problems.
- Provide entry-level technical support for service requests remotely and on-site.
- Accurately document service activities, findings, and corrective actions.
- Represent the Field Service team professionally during site visits and support customer communications.
- Follow established field procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements at all times.
- Participate in structured training, field mentoring, and cross-functional learning (Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management).
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- 0–4 years of relevant experience (internships, co-ops, or field exposure are relevant).
- Basic understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Strong willingness to learn technical and customer-facing field service skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to follow direction and adapt to field conditions.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Nice-to-Have / Preferred
- Hands-on lab or field experience from internships, co-ops, technical programs, or hobbyist projects.
- Familiarity with standard preventative maintenance practices and basic troubleshooting workflows.
- Comfortable using mobile devices or tablets to document work and communicate with teams.
- Any field-safety certifications or OSHA training is a plus.
Work Location & Travel
- Primary location: Tucker, GA (position offers remote flexibility / telecommute options as required by the role).
- Travel to customer sites is expected as part of routine field assignments.
