What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Junior DevSecOps Engineer to support and operate CI/CD pipelines and related security and observability tooling used by development teams supporting defense and intelligence programs. This is an entry-level role reporting to senior DevSecOps engineers with strong mentorship and growth opportunities.
- Assist in operating and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Support integration of security tooling into CI/CD workflows (static/dynamic analysis, vulnerability scanning).
- Help implement and run automated test suites: unit, integration, and UAT.
- Work with developers to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in deployed applications.
- Follow security compliance procedures and help maintain documentation of processes.
- Learn and apply Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) patterns and automation under senior guidance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance and Full-Scope Polygraph.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 0–4 years of experience with CI/CD concepts — internships and academic projects accepted.
- Familiarity with Git, GitLab, Jira, and basic Linux systems administration.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and effective verbal/written communication.
- Commitment to strict security protocol discipline and DevSecOps best practices.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python to automate tasks.
- Fundamental container knowledge (Docker runtime, basic Dockerfiles).
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Baseline familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Entry-level certifications (CompTIA Security+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, Linux Foundation).
- Familiarity with security scanning and vulnerability management tools.
Location, Employment Type & Clearance
- Location: Chantilly/Herndon, VA (on-site / as specified by program requirements).
- Employment Type: Full-time, W2 (direct hire).
- Clearance: Must hold an active TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph at time of hire.
Compensation
- Target Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 per year (commensurate with experience and specialized skillset). This range is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.
