What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Junior DevSec Ops Engineer to help modernize and secure infrastructure for line-of-business applications. You will work with infrastructure, software, and data teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated security tooling, and repeatable CI/CD pipelines.

  • Build and maintain Terraform modules and Ansible playbooks to provision and manage infrastructure in a version-controlled, repeatable manner.
  • Integrate automated code scanning and security tools (static analysis, dependency/vulnerability scanning, secrets detection) into source control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design, configure, and operate CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for consistent deployments across development, test, and production.
  • Provision and support Microsoft Azure resources (compute, networking, identity, storage) and on-prem Windows/Linux servers using automation over manual configuration.
  • Monitor infrastructure and application health; respond to alerts and security findings; remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
  • Automate operational and deployment tasks with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Document architecture, runbooks, standards, and procedures. Communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide second-level support for infrastructure, deployment, and security-related help-desk issues.
  • Participate in small- to mid-scale projects, follow change management procedures, and maintain accurate operational documentation.

What We’re Looking For

This is an entry-level role designed for a motivated engineer who wants to grow across infrastructure, DevOps, and security disciplines.

  • Associates degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline required; bachelor’s preferred but not required.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant technical experience; internships, co-op, lab work, or personal projects that show cloud, automation, or security work are welcome.
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, routing).
  • Familiarity with a public cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible); hands-on experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD concepts.
  • Awareness of application security fundamentals (OWASP Top 10, vulnerability scanning, secrets management).
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective collaboration in a team environment.
  • Understanding of IT ticketing systems and the importance of daily ticket updates.
  • Willingness to learn from senior engineers and expand across infrastructure, DevOps, and security.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice to Have

  • Microsoft Azure fundamentals (e.g., AZ-900) or Terraform Associate, Security+ or similar certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

Compensation & Logistics
