What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring for a junior-level Data Scientist / Software Engineer (remote-friendly). In this role you will learn and contribute to building reliable data pipelines, analytics workflows, and production-ready data tools that support client projects.

• Work with SQL and relational warehouses to extract, transform, and load data
• Develop data processing code in Python and productionize it for scheduled jobs
• Implement and test streaming or batch pipelines using Spark / Databricks patterns
• Collaborate with engineers on ETL architecture, data modeling, and pipeline performance
• Document pipeline designs and produce clear “walk-through” narratives for interviews and stakeholders
• Participate in technical interviews, code reviews, and iteration on deliverables

What We’re Looking For

This is an entry / junior level role targeted at candidates who can demonstrate core data skills and the ability to learn quickly.

• Recent grads or early-career engineers in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or Statistics
• Hands-on experience (class projects, internships, bootcamps or personal projects) with:
  • SQL (performance-minded queries, indexing, joins)
  • Python (data libraries, scripting, testing)
  • Basic familiarity with Spark, Databricks, or cloud ETL concepts
• Clear communication — able to describe a pipeline you built and choices you made
• Willingness to learn cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and modern ETL patterns
• Motivation to prepare interview-ready projects and make them machine- and human-readable

Preferred (not required):

• Exposure to data modeling, streaming concepts, or CI/CD for data pipelines
• Any production experience deploying small services or scheduled jobs
