Responsibilities
Confidential Client is seeking a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join their data engineering and analytics teams in San Antonio, TX. In this role you will:
- Unlock insights from complex IoT and enterprise datasets using machine learning and AI.
- Explore, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data to answer client questions and inform decisions.
- Build and validate predictive models and quantitative analyses to address real-world problems.
- Develop and deploy machine learning / NLP solutions and algorithms into production or client environments.
- Create clear visualizations, reports, and documentation to translate technical results for non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to define requirements, evaluate solutions, and iterate quickly.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications to be considered for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with data exploration, cleaning, visualization, or mining.
- Proficiency in statistical and general-purpose programming languages commonly used for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
- Familiarity with structured and unstructured data sources and common tooling.
- Basic knowledge or coursework/experience in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing.
- Demonstrated ability to build predictive models and perform quantitative analyses.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with IoT data, time-series analysis, or sensor data pipelines.
- Familiarity with ML deployment tools or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Exposure to NLP libraries (spaCy, Transformers) or ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly, Tableau).

Location & Work Model
- Location: San Antonio, TX. This role is expected to be performed on-site or in a hybrid model as specified by the Confidential Client. Specific remote/work-from-home options, if any, will be described during the hiring process.
