Confidential Client is seeking motivated, entry-level candidates for a Junior Data Scientist role focused on business intelligence (BI) and data analytics. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates, professionals re-entering the workforce after a layoff, or career-switchers who want hands-on project experience and interview readiness in data roles.
What You’ll Do
- Support data collection, cleaning, and transformation to prepare datasets for analysis.
- Build reports and dashboards using BI tools to surface actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and basic statistical modeling to answer business questions.
- Assist in prototyping simple machine learning models and evaluating their performance.
- Collaborate with engineers and analysts to translate business requirements into data solutions.
- Document data sources, transformations, and common analysis patterns to support reproducibility.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications — candidates who meet most of these are encouraged to apply:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with Python (or R) for data analysis.
- Basic experience with SQL for querying relational databases.
- Exposure to BI tools or dashboarding platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Strong analytical mindset, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work on small, cross-functional teams.
Preferred skills (nice-to-have)
- Experience with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, or similar data libraries.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
