Role Overview

This entry-level/full-time role supports data science and BI initiatives for a confidential client in the IT industry. You'll work with engineering and analytics teams to prepare data, build models, and deliver dashboards and tooling that support product and business decisions. This position is a great fit for recent grads or career-switchers with foundational programming and analytical skills who want on-the-job mentorship and exposure to production ML/BI systems.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist with data cleaning, ETL, and dataset preparation for analysis and modeling
  • Build and validate basic predictive models and statistical analyses
  • Create interactive BI dashboards and visualizations to summarize insights
  • Write scripts and small applications to automate data tasks (Python/Java or similar)
  • Collaborate with software engineers to move models and pipelines into production
  • Document analyses, reproducible workflows, and present results to stakeholders
  • Participate in peer code reviews and learning sessions

Qualifications

Minimum (we encourage applicants who meet most of these to apply):

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or related field — recent graduates welcome
  • Practical experience (class projects, internships, bootcamps) using Python or Java for data tasks
  • Familiarity with SQL and basic data modeling
  • Exposure to BI tools or dashboarding (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) or interest in learning them
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Desire to learn production deployment patterns and collaboration with engineering teams

Nice-to-Haves

  • Coursework or project experience with machine learning or statistical modeling
  • Familiarity with ETL tools, data warehouses, or cloud platforms
  • Basic understanding of full-stack or DevOps concepts (helpful for productionizing models)
  • Prior experience as a data analyst, BI analyst, or intern on analytics teams
