What You’ll Do

This entry-level Junior Data Scientist role is a hands-on position where you'll learn fast and ship real projects. Working with Confidential Client and their partners, you will:

• Build, evaluate, and iterate on machine learning models using Python.
• Prepare and clean data; perform exploratory data analysis and visualization.
• Implement standard ML workflows (feature engineering, model selection, validation).
• Use libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn and work with SQL for data access.
• Assist with basic data engineering and reproducible pipelines.
• Participate in live-skilling sessions, project work, and interview prep to accelerate placement.
• Communicate results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Who We’re Looking For

This role is aimed at early-career candidates who are eager to learn and apply modern data and ML practices:

• Recent graduates in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
• Candidates retraining into data roles or with limited professional experience.
• Applicants with coursework, self-directed projects, bootcamp experience, or internships demonstrating familiarity with Python and data concepts.
• Candidates who can collaborate, present results, and translate technical work into business value.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python (core language + libraries like pandas, numpy).
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts (classification, regression, model evaluation).
• Familiarity with SQL for querying datasets.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in small teams.
• Eligible to work in the U.S.; all visa types and U.S. citizens are encouraged to apply.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with scikit-learn, Jupyter notebooks, or similar tools.
• Basic exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or containerization (Docker).
• Coursework or projects involving statistics, data visualization, or ML pipelines.
• Git / version control experience.
• Any deployed projects or portfolio work you can demonstrate.

Compensation & Location

• Salary range: $82,000 - $127,000 per year (paid by Confidential Client).
• Location: Johnson City, TN — this is an on-site or hybrid opportunity depending on the client’s needs.
• Employment type: Full-time (placements will be hired directly by Confidential Client).
