Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking motivated, entry-level candidates for a Junior Data Scientist / Data Engineer track. This remote-friendly opportunity is ideal for recent graduates, career-switchers, or professionals looking to transition from business operations into data-focused roles. You’ll learn core data tools (SQL, Python), build practical projects, and support dashboards and reporting that inform business decisions.

What you’ll do

• Support data cleaning, ETL tasks, and basic data pipelines using SQL and Python
• Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
• Turn business questions into metrics, reports, and actionable insights
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to scope small projects
• Document analyses, share findings, and present simple data stories to non-technical audiences

Required qualifications

• Degree or recent coursework in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline — or equivalent hands-on projects/bootcamp experience
• Basic SQL skills (writing queries, joins, simple aggregations)
• Familiarity with Python (data libraries such as pandas preferred)
• Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and translating business questions into analytic tasks
• Strong analytical mindset and clear written/verbal communication skills

• Experience or coursework in data visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib/plotly
• Exposure to ETL concepts, data modeling, or basic scripting for data processing
