Role Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking entry-level candidates for Junior Data Scientist / Business Intelligence Analyst roles supporting client projects in Stamford, CT. This opportunity is ideal for recent grads, candidates returning from a career gap, or professionals transitioning into data roles. You’ll work on practical analytics projects, support reporting and dashboards, and help build data-driven insights for stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Perform data cleaning, exploration, and basic statistical analysis to answer business questions
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Write SQL queries to extract and transform data from relational databases
- Support model prototyping and simple machine learning experiments (Python/R)
- Translate business requirements into data specifications and visualizations
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (recent grads welcome)
- Familiarity with Python (pandas, scikit-learn) or R and basic data manipulation libraries
- Comfortable writing SQL for data extraction and joins
- Experience or coursework using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) or strong willingness to learn quickly
- Strong analytical mindset and clear written/verbal communication skills
- Candidates with career gaps, limited professional experience, or a desire to reskill are encouraged to apply
Preferred (nice-to-have)
- Basic experience with machine learning concepts and model evaluation
- Exposure to cloud data services (AWS/GCP/Azure) or ETL tools

Compensation & Location
- Location: Stamford, CT (on-site / client-site expectations may vary per placement)
- Estimated annual compensation: $107,499 (estimated) — actual offers will depend on role, experience, and client placement
