- Write and optimize SQL queries and data pipelines to prepare datasets for analysis and modeling.
- Build and validate supervised and unsupervised models for business problems (churn, fraud, classification, regression).
- Support ML lifecycle activities including basic MLOps practices and collaboration with engineering teams for deployment.
- Contribute to Java full‑stack development tasks when applicable: backend APIs, integrations, and frontend components.
- Communicate technical results clearly for product and business stakeholders; defend modeling choices and explain tradeoffs.
- Participate in structured interview‑style problem solving and mock technical interviews as part of placement or onboarding processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field — recent graduates and early‑career candidates encouraged.
- Practical experience with SQL and at least one programming language: Python or Java.
- Familiarity with basic machine learning concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, evaluation metrics, feature engineering.
- Ability to explain technical work in plain business language and justify design/modeling decisions.
- Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; role is based in Berkeley, CA.
Preferred / Helpful Skills
- Experience with Python data libraries (pandas, scikit‑learn), or Java backends and common frameworks.
- Exposure to deep learning basics, NLP, or LLM/GenAI workflows.
- Familiarity with DevOps/MLOps concepts and cloud environments.
- Portfolio projects, coursework, or internships demonstrating applied projects (churn modeling, fraud detection, NLP, CV, etc.).
Compensation & Location
- Location: Berkeley, California (on‑site / hybrid arrangements determined by the client).
- Employment Type: Full‑time.
- Salary: $79,000 - $136,000 per year (range provided by the client).

- Structured training and interview preparation are often available through the client’s programs (if applicable) to bridge gaps between academic knowledge and employer expectations.
- Opportunity to work on real business problems, gain production experience, and move into specialized ML or full‑stack engineering tracks.
