Responsibilities

This entry-level position is a hands-on role supporting data engineering and analytics initiatives. You will work with senior engineers and data scientists to prepare, process, and analyze data used for reporting and advanced analytics.

  • Assist in data collection, cleaning, and transformation to prepare datasets for analysis and reporting.
  • Write, review, and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Support development and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL jobs, and database objects.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to analyze datasets and produce actionable insights.
  • Document data definitions, ETL processes, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

Candidates should have foundational technical knowledge and academic or project experience working with data.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Academic or internship experience with data-related projects (data analysis, database design, ETL, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (required).
  • Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, and relational database concepts.
  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team.

Preferred Skills

These skills will help you ramp faster and contribute to production systems sooner.

  • Familiarity with Python (or another scripting language) for data manipulation and automation.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Understanding of basic data warehousing concepts and ETL patterns.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and simple CI/test workflows.
  • Comfort reading and interpreting technical documentation and data schemas.

Compensation & Benefits

The base compensation range for this role in Charlotte, NC is: $60,000 - $65,000 (annual).

  • This role may also be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives or bonuses, where applicable.
