Role summary

Confidential Client is seeking a Junior Data Analyst / SQL BI Analyst to join a remote-friendly analytics team. This is an entry-level to early-career opportunity for candidates who are comfortable working with data, writing SQL, and helping turn data into actionable business insights. The successful candidate will support reporting, data validation, and basic BI tasks while learning platform and domain-specific tools.

What you’ll do

• Support data preparation, validation, and ETL tasks using SQL
• Build and maintain basic dashboards and reports for stakeholders
• Run queries to extract, aggregate, and summarize data for analysis
• Document data sources, transformations, and reporting logic
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and product teams to support ad-hoc requests
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies and help improve data quality

What we’re looking for

Minimum qualifications (entry-level / early-career):

• Familiarity with SQL (SELECT, JOINs, GROUP BY, basic window functions)
• Comfort working with spreadsheets (Excel, Google Sheets) and basic data validation
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for sharing findings with non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to learn new BI tools and data platforms quickly
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset

Preferred (nice-to-have):

• Experience with a BI tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) — helpful but not required
• Basic scripting or analytics experience in Python or R
• Exposure to ETL concepts or SQL-based reporting in a workplace or academic project

Compensation & work arrangement

• This role is remote-friendly; the authoritative location for this posting is Indianapolis, IN (applicant must be authorized to work in the U.S.).
• Estimated salary (from source data): $115,473 per year (estimate). Actual pay will depend on experience and the Confidential Client’s compensation practices.
• Employment type: Full-time (expect regular business hours with possible flexible scheduling depending on team needs).
