Position Summary
Confidential Client is seeking a motivated, entry-level Junior Data Analyst to support business decisions by collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting on data. This is a hands-on role ideal for candidates with strong Excel skills and basic SQL who want to grow into analytics through dashboarding and regular reporting.
What You’ll Do
- Collect, clean, and organize data from internal and external sources to ensure reliable datasets for analysis.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Prepare clear, timely reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Build and maintain dashboards using Power BI or Tableau to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Write basic SQL queries to retrieve and validate data from databases.
- Use Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation) for ad-hoc analysis.
- Verify data accuracy and maintain data quality standards.
- Support daily reporting and routine analytics tasks.
- Work cross-functionally to understand business needs and translate them into analytics requirements.
- Present findings to team members and stakeholders in a concise, business-focused way.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or a related role (entry-level candidates encouraged).
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
- Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau (building dashboards preferred).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication; able to explain findings to non-technical audiences.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn new tools and techniques.
Compensation & Location
- Location: Schiller Park, IL (on-site / hybrid as determined by the confidential client)
- Estimated salary: $50,854 per year (estimated figure from the source posting)
