What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level cybersecurity analyst role. The Confidential Client will provide training; you'll work with senior analysts to detect, investigate, and help remediate threats.

  • Monitor and analyze threat intelligence feeds to identify emerging threats relevant to the organization.
  • Use OSINT tools to gather context on threats and adversaries.
  • Conduct proactive threat-hunting across network and endpoint telemetry using provided tools and playbooks.
  • Review and interpret logs from firewalls, endpoints, and servers to identify indicators of compromise (IOCs).
  • Investigate alerts, escalate confirmed or suspected incidents to senior analysts, and assist with triage.
  • Collaborate to refine and test detection rules (e.g., SIEM queries, Defender for Endpoint rules).
  • Collect and document forensic evidence and contribute to containment and remediation activities.
  • Maintain and update documentation: incident reports, after-action reviews, hunting methodologies, and playbooks.
  • Support patch prioritization and deployment using SCCM, GPOs, and PowerShell; identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Help develop and deliver internal training and simulations to improve security awareness.
  • Build foundational knowledge of cloud security controls as adoption increases.

What We’re Looking For

Required (minimum)

  • Understanding of security concepts and basic computer/network concepts.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • 1+ years in an IT or IT-security-focused role (server or network administration, SOC analyst, or similar).
  • Experience with SIEM and endpoint security tooling.
  • Experience using PowerShell, Group Policy (GPO), and SCCM or other endpoint management tools.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management and cloud security concepts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (preferred).
  • Certifications a plus (see Certifications section).

Technical & soft skills

  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to work in a mid-size team.
  • Willingness to learn security frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK) and follow established incident response playbooks.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $25.88 per hour – $30.88 per hour.

Education & Certifications

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred certifications (not required but prioritized):
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
    • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
