What You’ll Do

You will support civil engineering project work across site development, roadway, utility, stormwater, and other civil infrastructure assignments under the supervision of project leadership.

  • Design and prepare plans for site development, roadways, utilities, stormwater management, and related civil infrastructure.
  • Perform site grading, drainage, and erosion-control design in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct technical analyses, calculations, and construction cost estimates.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, surveyors, and other engineers to meet project objectives and deadlines.
  • Review construction plans and specifications for accuracy and alignment with project goals.
  • Provide construction-phase support including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting field inspections.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present to the public and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with computer-aided design software (AutoCAD, InRoads) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with StormCAD and ArcGIS is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to perform specification preparation and technical research.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (accredited four-year college or university).
  • Entry-level: typically 1–2 years of related experience (or internship/co-op experience) preferred.

Certifications & Licenses

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred but not required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment is contingent on verification.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Occasional field work with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequent and prolonged computer use.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • This position may require travel to project sites within the region.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary range for this full-time position in the United States is $57,000 - $85,500. Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including skills, experience, education, and training.
