Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Junior Civil Engineer with an interest in airfield pavement engineering to join their Transportation / Aviation practice. This role focuses on developing technical expertise in pavement design, evaluation, testing, and pavement management while supporting senior engineers on airport pavement projects.


What You’ll Do

  • Support pavement design, evaluation, and management projects for airfields and related infrastructure
  • Assist senior engineers and project managers with engineering analyses, testing, and technical evaluations
  • Participate in pavement-related field testing, data collection, and condition assessments
  • Help prepare technical reports, figures, tables, and client-ready presentations
  • Use engineering tools and software including Microsoft Word/Excel, AutoCAD, GIS, PAVER, FAARFIELD, and database systems
  • Analyze engineering data, interpret results, and help develop clear recommendations
  • Perform field work professionally with attention to documentation, quality, and safety
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Travel to project sites (approximately 10%–20% annually) and occasionally to client offices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (GPA ≥ 3.0/4.0)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to travel for field assignments and client sites
  • Experience with AutoCAD and GIS, and familiarity with programming or database development is a plus
  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred
  • Candidates may be subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility for badging/access where required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated salary range: $56,000 to $64,000 per year, depending on education, experience, and location
  • Additional pay may be available for extended travel/field work
  • Confidential Client offers competitive benefits (health, retirement, paid time off, etc.); specific offerings vary by location

Location & Work Model

  • Location: Egg Harbor, New Jersey (hybrid role)
  • Work model: Hybrid — minimum of 3 days per week in the assigned office, plus project-related travel
  • Travel: Approximately 10%–20% domestic travel expected; limited international travel may be required
  • Note: Candidates must meet any eligibility requirements for site access and project badging

Security & Compliance

This role may require eligibility for government security investigations and access to classified or secured project sites. Candidates should be able to meet vetting and site-access requirements where applicable.
