Confidential Client is hiring a Junior AI Engineer (entry-level) to work with Python and deep learning models. This is a full-time role based in Dowtown Carrier Annex, CA. The posting includes a salary range of $82,000 - $127,000 per year.
What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is looking for an early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience building and evaluating ML and deep learning models in production-like settings.
- Develop, train and evaluate machine learning and deep learning models using Python (TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar)
- Prepare datasets, run experiments, and maintain reproducible training pipelines
- Implement data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation metrics
- Collaborate with engineers and data teams to integrate models into applications or pipelines
- Write clear, testable code and document experiment results and model behavior
- Participate in design and code reviews; iterate on model improvements based on feedback and metrics
Minimum qualifications
Candidates who meet most of the items below will be competitive:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field — recent grads are encouraged to apply
- Practical experience with Python for data science / ML workflows
- Familiarity with at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras)
- Basic understanding of ML fundamentals: supervised learning, loss functions, optimization, validation
- Experience with data preprocessing and common libraries (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in small, cross-functional teams
Nice-to-have
- Experience with model deployment or MLOps tools (Docker, CI/CD, MLflow)
- Exposure to computer vision, NLP, or time-series modeling
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Coursework, internships, or personal projects that demonstrate ML/AI experience
