Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Junior Accountant to support a small, collaborative accounting team. This is an entry-level to early-career role focused on daily transactional accounting, reconciliations, inventory & cost accounting support, and month-end close tasks. The position begins fully onsite for the first 90 days, then moves to a hybrid schedule (four days onsite, one work‑from‑home day per week). The office is relocating to Lithia Springs, GA in November; the role will be based in Smyrna, GA.


What You’ll Do

  • Record and reconcile daily transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Perform regular account reconciliations (bank, vendor, intercompany).
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for month‑end and year‑end close.
  • Support inventory accounting activities: inventory costing, cycle counts, and variance analysis.
  • Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and project cost tracking.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Help prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Support sales tax filings and other compliance reporting as needed.
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to resolve cost and inventory questions.
  • Contribute general accounting support and ad hoc analyses to the team.

Who You Are / Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred; internships or co‑op experience considered.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals: A/P, A/R, GL, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable learning new ERP systems and accounting software quickly.
  • Good organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Positive, curious mindset with a desire to grow in accounting.

Nice to Have (Preferred)

  • Exposure to manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, or inventory accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Acumatica.
  • Familiarity with COGS calculations and project cost tracking.
  • Previous experience working in a small accounting team environment.

Work Environment & Schedule

This role starts 100% onsite for the first 90 days. Afterward the schedule is hybrid: four days onsite and one remote day per week. The accounting team is small (approximately three people), providing broad exposure across functions. The workplace emphasizes a collaborative culture with team activities and cultural programs.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $60,000 – $65,000 per year. Individual offers depend on qualifications, experience, and other factors.
