What You’ll Do

Confidential client is hiring a Junior Accountant to support a small, multi-entity finance team in Fort Myers, FL. This role helps maintain accurate books, supports month-end close activities, assists with audits, and provides administrative accounting support across multiple business units. You will work closely with finance and operations on AR, AP, billings, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting.

  • Assist with accounts receivable (invoicing, collections, applying payments) for multiple entities
  • Process accounts payable and expense reports; match POs and client contracts as needed
  • Post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and support month-end close tasks
  • Prepare and maintain financial and internal reports; run billing and client-requested reports
  • Reconcile subaccounts and perform periodic audits of departmental codes/cost centers
  • Manage fixed asset records and depreciation schedules for assigned entities
  • Ensure reimbursable expenses are coded, booked, and billed correctly
  • Support intercompany invoicing and ensure transactions are coded and billed properly
  • Help maintain accounting systems (expense reporting, payroll interfaces, HRIS) and SOPs
  • Provide backup support to other accounting staff and assist with ad hoc projects assigned by senior finance leaders
  • Support HR/admin tasks as needed (mail, reception backup, supply ordering, meeting support)

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent college coursework preferred (Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • 1+ years of accounting experience (AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries)
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel required)
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; strong problem-solving and active listening

Preferred

  • Experience with consolidated financial statements and multi-entity accounting
  • Familiarity with accounting software, expense reporting systems, and HRIS
  • Experience supporting audits and month-end close processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 per year
  • Employment type: Full-time; Exempt; Entry level
  • Hours: Regular business hours, Monday–Friday
  • Remote: Hybrid — typically one day remote per week (telecommute option)

Location
