The Junior Accountant at Confidential Client is an entry-level role focused on building a broad foundation in accounting through hands-on experience across multiple business areas including retail, food & beverage, e-commerce, and inventory. Responsibilities include supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and assisting with accounts payable/receivable and payroll activities. What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Junior Accountant to support month-end close, reconciliations, inventory accounting, retail and food & beverage accounting, and general accounting tasks. This is an entry-level to early-career role that provides broad exposure across accounting functions tied to e-commerce, retail, hospitality, fulfillment, and distribution.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare routine journal entries and supporting documentation.
- Perform account reconciliations and research reconciling items.
- Reconcile daily point-of-sale (POS) activity and compare POS to deposits and payment processor reports.
- Support inventory accounting, cycle counts, and variance investigations.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable support and reconciliations.
- Maintain accounting schedules, supporting documentation, and internal-control procedures.
- Support payroll journal entries, sales tax and regulatory filings, and payment-processor reconciliations.
- Participate in ERP/reporting, process-improvement, and cross-functional projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
- Comfortable working with numbers, spreadsheets, and financial data.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (familiarity with PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and an eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively on a team and follow established procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
These are helpful but not required:
- 0–2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, internship, or related experience.
- Exposure to retail, restaurant, hospitality, inventory, or e-commerce operations.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and ERP software (NetSuite experience is a plus).
- Prior experience supporting reconciliations, accounts payable, or accounts receivable.
- Coursework or internship experience in accounting/financial reporting.

Employment Details & Benefits
- Location: On-site in Forks, PA.
- Employment type: Full-time (contractor engagement may apply as noted by the client).
- Salary range: $50,000 — $58,000 per year (provided by the client).
- Benefits (subject to eligibility and waiting periods): medical, dental, vision, company-paid basic life & AD&D, short- and long-term disability, 401(k) with company match (after one year), and optional supplemental insurance.
